• Follow established housekeeping and safety practices.
• Must demonstrate the ability to complete all departmental paperwork in fine detail and explain the logic of all phases.
• Demonstrate ability to log on main computer system, extract information, log time, enter inventory amount and forward to next operation.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspection of castings per part grade levels.
• Selects and mounts proper belts for grinders, as required for operation. Operates various types of grinding equipment.
• Interacts with qualified welders to replace missing metal – according to OPC’s and QCP’s.
• Adjusts equipment to obtain optimum running condition, being mindful of alloy cross contamination.
• Inspects own parts for surface finish, distortion and imperfections such as scratches, uneven surface, non-consistent curvature, or other non-acceptable condition.
• Maintains accurate records of work performed, meets all production and quality standards.
• Looks up location of grinding fixtures and makes small handheld fixtures if none available.

• Must be able to determine if a grinding belt, after extended use, is still serviceable for other shop numbers or machine grinding operations.
• Must pass a practical test which consists of at least the following steps:
o Read and interpret department paperwork instructions.
o Recognize over/under size parts before grinding.
o Grind parts to specified dimensions.
o Complete steps a, b and c in a time frame acceptable as a production rate.
