The role:

Are you ready to join our exciting journey towards Colleague Centricity? We are thrilled to invite you to join our HR Information Systems & Continuous Improvement team in our Colleague Services Directorate. This is an excellent opportunity for you to play a pivotal part in creating a service environment that our candidates and colleagues value.

As a Systems and Process Improvement Consultant, you will be aligned to our recruitment systems, and you will collaborate closely with System Owners and our wider recruitment and operational teams to bring the People Strategy to life. Your responsibilities will involve supporting essential recruitment processes and driving improvements and changes in both processes and system specifications. Ensuring our recruitment systems deliver the best they can to support our front line recruiters in the varied and huge volume recruitment they deliver.

This position offers a phenomenal opportunity to translate business requirements into system delivery, by working with our internal IT partners to deliver this. You will also  gain in-depth knowledge of our entire recruitment life cycle as it supports the delivery of our recruitment, which includes everything from Cabin Crew, Pilots, Airport Operations, Emerging Talent, Contact Centres, Head Office to name a few!  As we embark on this exciting journey to enhance our candidate and colleagues experience and deliver the value they deserve, your role will be pivotal in achieving our goals.

What you’ll do:

  • Support product owner on planning and project management of small, medium, and large-scale changes to the recruitment systems both eArcu and Ref-Z (Internal BA owned system)
  • Translate business systems requirements into IT deliverables for our IT partners to implement
  • Seek opportunities to develop and improve recruitment systems and processes.
  • Create and update system processes, procedures, and support documentation for any changes to recruitment systems and collaborate with stakeholders on any training required.
  • Partner with our Recruitment System Product Owner, external ATS provider, Internal IT teams and wider People directorate to ensure alignment and knowledge transfer
  • Monitor and troubleshoot recruitment systems issues, resolving technical problems, and providing ongoing support to users.

 

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

If you possess the following skills and capabilities this role will align to you:

  • Technologically Minded: You have a keen interest in systems and process mapping. You are a confident user of Microsoft Applications, and any basic coding skills would be a bonus.
  • Natural Problem Solver: Youre naturally curious and excel at translating business requirements into effective system and process solutions. Your keen attention to detail, combined with strong numeric skills, ensures precision in tasks and data analysis.
  • Complex Issue and Project Management: You have a proven ability to thrive under pressure, quickly grasp and handle complex issues, and deliver successful outcomes. You also have practical expertise in project control and planning techniques, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Communication and Influencing: As a self-starter, you possess strong communication skills and well-developed influencing abilities, which are invaluable for effective stakeholder management.

 

Your experience:

The following qualifications and experience are desirable, although we always champion the potential for growth and development in every team member:

  • Proficiency in using HR Systems and experience in taking business requirements and translating them into IT deliverables.
  • Experience of working with systems and/or systems management.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies, such as Lean.
  • A background in STEM subjects, ideally at the degree level or equivalent.
