We have a four-month co-op opportunity available for a HVAC Technician student.  In this role, you will assist our Facilities and Maintenance team in various projects and work orders in a manufacturing environment. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with skilled professionals, leverage advanced technologies, and contribute to the success of Raytheon ELCAN.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support our Facilities & Maintenance Team with work orders, projects etc.
• Work safely and in accordance with all applicable acts, regulations, legislation, and codes to ensure personal and public safety
• Interpret electrical, mechanical, and piping drawings
• Understand and use a variety of heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning tools and equipment safely and properly
• Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experience

Qualifications & Experience:

• Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma
• Enrollment in College HVAC Technician program, or related field
• Proven verbal and written communications skills
• Proven ability to solve technical problems and make sound decisions
• Professional, responsive, and customer-focused
• Highly motivated with a demonstrated positive attitude

We recognize the importance of providing a great opportunity for students interested in entering the HVAC Trade.  We are committed to providing regular feedback and guidance, assistance in setting learning goals, and a performance review at the end of the co-op term.  This is a paid position. 

This position involves technologies regulated by the Canadian government’s Controlled Goods Program and the Contract Security Program. In order to obtain the required security clearance, candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, have resided in Canada for a minimum of five consecutive years, and meet all other program requirements.  Job offers will be conditional upon candidates undergoing a successful security screening per the Controlled Goods Regulations and the Contract Security Program.
