Net Shaped Solutions (NSS) is a premier cold forged products manufacturer with location in Canton, Michigan. NSS has more than 50 years of experience in net shaped cold forged products with extensive in-house engineering design and production capabilities. We are part of a multi-billion dollar aerospace component manufacturer named Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC).

Position Summary:
Level one heading machine operators work under direct supervision to interpret basic work instructions and safely operate basic heading machines that have been set up for production to produce simple components such as roller bearings and bushings. Level one operators will also complete in process inspection duties per control plan. This role requires competencies in basic shop math, basic print reading and a basic mechanical aptitude.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
Correctly interpret work orders.
Lift up to 45 lbs.
Able to work overtime as needed.
Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Sets up and operates machines that automatically perform multi-operations such as roll threading and/or heading to produce fasteners, such as bolts and rivets from hot or cold metal rod or wire.
Starts machine to begin production and observes machine operations for evidence of malfunction and products for defects.
Using measuring instruments to ensure and record quality information.
Contamination prevention and elimination
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

The ability to read and write English.
The ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, and decimals.
The ability to use basic hand tools, wrenches, etc.
The ability to use basic inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
Basic computer skills.
The ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic prints and dimensions.
Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the job with or without an
accommodation.
