We are seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join our team at our Birmingham location. The ideal candidate will have strong aviation experience, a deep understanding of safety management systems (SMS), and the ability to conduct technical safety investigations. In this role, you will collaborate with key stakeholders, employees, and customers to investigate incidents, identify risks, and contribute to improving safety culture within our operations. The role requires proficiency in producing, editing, and finalizing reports and the ability to effectively communicate safety risks with senior management. Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Report daily safety performance to the SMS Manager
Identify and manage risks and hazards, implementing containment actions
Investigate incidents to determine root causes and corrective actions
Deliver training sessions on safety management and human factors
Review and manage technical risk registers
Conduct Human Factors-based investigations
Liaise with Civilian and Military customers regarding safety issues
Prepare and present internal and customer safety reports
Develop and run safety awareness tools and campaigns across the company

Qualifications:

Understanding of EASA, CAA, and MAA Part 145 requirements
Strong background in aviation safety principles and risk management
Deep knowledge of behavior-based safety (human factors) and just culture models
Experience in developing safety training materials and delivering training sessions
Solid understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS) principles
Maintenance Error Investigator training is desirable
