PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to provide the necessary support to the Human Resources Department at the Grafton Facility and also can support Mayville location remotely. Main areas of support focus in the areas of Labor Relations, Communication Initiatives, Recruiting, Training and Affirmative Action. We are looking for an entry-level candidate, who is willing to learn and be trained in all areas of Human Resources to support a heavy manufacturing environment with a union workforce.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Recruit salaried employees both on site and at job fairs and college campuses
- Recruit hourly union positions, including posting of job, communication with candidates, interviewing and offer letter process.
- Management of Grafton Co-op Program to insure steady pipeline of talent is obtained
- Responsible for the recording of all completed job training
- Responsible for the site Tardiness and Attendance Policy
- Maintain and update employee information in HRIS database
- Provider of Anti-Harassment training to Wyman-Gordon employees.
- Rewriting and updating of all salaried job descriptions
- Recruiting and interviewing Management Development Program (MDP) candidates at selected Universities.
- Co-ordinate MDP plant visits; communicate plans and schedules to potential candidates.
- Communication with employees who are out on medical including obtaining of notes, communication with supervisors, daily check in’s with employees on light duty
- Storage of paperwork including filling, shredding, uploading to workday
- Employee engagement activities/party planning (Retirements, bereavement of family members, physical inventory)
- Various assigned projects throughout Human Resources department.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations or other related field is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a fast paced demanding environment
- 0-2 years of experience in an Administrative or HR role
- Willingness to learn and take on tasks
- Ability to flex hours to cover 5:30a.m. or 6p.m. needs on an infrequent basis
- Ability to work on-site daily M-F (not remote or hybrid role)
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements
- Ability to interpret human resource policies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and to be self-motivated.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
