JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for processes and procedures related to the movement and shipment of GE goods across borders. Manages and impacts the quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines, with the flexibility to rearrange the sequence based on changing work situations.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand Logistics Operational Processes.
Handle complex Logistics exceptions and processes within Forwarding and Courier services.
Exhibit professional attributes to interact with customers, contractors, and customs officers face-to-face.
Possess communication skills to engage with a wide cross-section of the business.
Ensure parts, engines, consumables, equipment, and tools are imported/exported with optimal TAT, adhering to compliance, customs, RECOF, and AEO procedures.
Represent the logistics team in production meetings to align deadlines and fulfill production needs.
Understand business metrics, budgetary management, and functional metrics.
KEY CUSTOMS & COMPLIANCE TASKS/FUNCTIONS
Maintain a continuous focus on Customs Import and Export practices.
Operate within airworthiness legislation requirements, customs regulations, and Approved Economic Operator (AEO) requirements.
Develop and maintain the highest standard of accuracy in company procedures to meet demands.
Liaise with GE Aviation HQ on specific issues.
REQUIREMENTS
Advanced computer literacy skills with ongoing experience in windows-based packages.
Knowledge of OASIS SAP, Thomson Reuters International Trade Suite of Software, and Brazilian Foreign Trade System.
Proven advanced skills in written and oral English.
Previous experience in Logistics and/or Operations.
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Production Engineering, International Trade, or Logistics and Supply Chain.
Strong communication skills.
Innovative, logical, and creative approach to resolving issues and process improvements.
Curious and passionate about International Trade, Logistics, and GE.
Effective team player with the ability to motivate others.
Good negotiation skills.
Adaptable to change.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS
Experience in Kaizen Breakthrough / Improvement Projects.
Understanding of Lean Principles such as Standard Work, 5S, Kaizen, GEMBA.
