An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Information Security Co-ordinator to join the team with a leading Defence Client at their site in Barrow,

Your main responsibilities as an Information Security Co-ordinator will involve

• Maintaining Need to Know principles in respect of managing our Identity & Access Management (IDAM) & Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls, and network boundary controls for all users.
• Gathering data, analysing and preparing reports or presentations to feed information back to teams/managers.
• Ensure the timely management of all Service Now transactional work generated across the business requiring assessment, review and action activities to resolve and facilitate into the business.
• Reviewing current Security arrangements of buildings and facilities while working to an outline plan of the review requirements. Responsible for producing information to aid next steps in a process
• Applying the principles of the Portable Electronic Devices Policy in assessments as directed by the Head of Function.
• Providing advice and guidance to business stakeholders on security best practice and application of policies and processes in order to ensure compliance and/or risk management facilitating delivery of business objectives.
• Conducting and supporting security risk assessments and facilitate remedial activities to improve performance.
• Developing appropriate security arrangements ensuring cohesive physical, information and personnel security controls.
• Continually seeking opportunities for improvement to facilitate a good practice approach in all aspects of Information and Cyber Security.
• Conducting and supporting risk assessments and facilitate remedial activities to improve Information / Cyber Security performance, to facilitate delivery of business objectives.

Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:

• Strong I.T Skills, and working experience of use of Microsoft Office / Software packages to produce reports, presentations and materials to support your work.
• Ability to gather and analyse data, pulling together reports and delivering presentations
• Strong Stakeholder engagement and management in a challenging environment
• Assessment of compliance to policies. Problem Solving/Analysis
• Stakeholder Management
Desirable:
• Ability to work with information within a Security governance framework (NIST)
• Experience of Project Management

What were looking for in you:

You will be a strong and effective communicator with good interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead on work streams assigned to you. You will have the ability to problem solve in a technical environment and able to pull together solutions quickly. You will be comfortable engaging with all areas of the business up to Senior Management level

Recognising the restricted nature of the work  there is a requirement for the candidate to be eligible to obtain Security Clearance for this role.
