Position Summary
Duties/Responsibilities:
Build family molds
Set Molds in the press and start the press
Experience required with mold set up, operation, adjustments, troubleshooting and maintaining complex machines to department efficiency averages
Read and interpret process prints, including math conversions for setting machines
Read and interpret quality information instructions to meet quality requirements
Notify Quality of any out of spec parts
Read, interpret, and legibly record data on computers for SPC and quality assurance
Produce and inspect finished parts using scales, calipers, micrometers, adjustable, direct reading and fixed gauges to check work
Handle and mix materials
Care required to keep machines and molds clean
Recognize defective tooling, machine malfunctions and dimensional deviations
Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to set ups and operations within recognized procedures
Operate crane, forklift, and other handling equipment according to OSHA specifications
Complete all daily 5S duties to include trash removal
Train, instruct and assist trainees throughout the training period
Perform these and all other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
All team members are expected to keep their work area clean, organized and maintain a high level of safety and quality
Must be able to use basic shop math
Must possess strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to communicate effectively with other team members, including between shifts
Ability to proceed on work assignments with minimum supervision or assistance
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to work within High Performance Team (HPT) guidelines
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including spelling, grammar and composition
Requires basic computer skills
Requires basic math skills
Ability to read and interpret required paperwork with high degree of accuracy
Must be able to satisfactorily complete testing for operation of the forklift and other equipment as required
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalency
3 years documented work history as an Injection Mold Process Technician
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, sit, reach, bend, twist, reach overhead, walk, and carry molds, materials and boxes of product or parts intermittently during an 8-hour shift
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. regularly during an 8-hour shift
Must be able to empty bags of material with a sliding force in excess of 200 lbs. occasionally during an 8-hour shift
Must be able to tolerate a mold shop environment which includes fumes, dust, and oil
