These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.

The Internal Audit department at United Airlines contributes to and helps improve the organizations operations through audit and advisory work. Internal Audit helps the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, principled approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness and efficiencies of risk management and control processes. It also functions as one of the monitoring activities in the organizations control structure and provides feedback to management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors on control efficiencies, deficiencies and improvement areas in business and technology. Interns will be given meaningful projects along with the opportunity to interact with and present to leadership.

• Engages in planning of technology and data analytic focused audits, including walkthroughs and testing procedures
• Support the delivery of technology audits, including identifying issues, analyzing evidence, and documenting processes and procedures
• Utilizes data analytics in audit and advisory engagements to improve quality and efficiencies
• Contributes to the development of solutions to business problems using data analysis and visualization tools
• Assists with delivering clear, concise, and meaningful insights on audit issues
• Participates in closing meetings with clients and discuss audit results and management action plans for corrective actions
• Identifies and executes continuous improvement processes in the Internal Audit function, including identifying specific actions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of audit processes and procedures.
• Maintains a positive, professional relationship with staff and management at all levels

• Applicant must be a current student or within one year of graduation at either of the following levels: BS, BA (preferably major in Information Systems, data analytics/science, cybersecurity or similar)

· Grasp of key technology concepts (infrastructure, applications, etc.)

· Excellent analytical skills and has an awareness of the tools and techniques that can be leveraged for data analytics (e.g., Excel, R, Alteryx, Tableau, Spotfire, SAS, ACL, SQL etc.)

· Solid verbal & written communication skills

· Strong interpersonal skills with focus on teamwork

· Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment

· This role will be based in Chicago and follow a hybrid scheduling model

· Internship duration is 12 weeks during Summer 2025

· Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

· Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

· Willingness to travel up to 25
