What are your contributions to the team?

•    Investigation of Safety hazard or event: The primary responsibility of an Investigator is to investigate safety hazards or concerns related to the products manufactured by Bombardier. These hazards or events could include incidents, malfunctions, or any other safety-related issues reported by customers, regulatory agencies, or internal sources.
•    Root Cause Analysis: Investigators conduct thorough root cause analyses to determine the underlying factors contributing to safety incidents. This involves examining technical data, conducting interviews with relevant stakeholders, and assessing various aspects of the product design, manufacturing process, maintenance procedures, and operational usage.
•    Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with aviation safety regulations is crucial in this role. Investigators need to have a strong understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks such as those established by Transport Canada Civil Aviation in Canada, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United States or the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in Europe. They must ensure that the products meet all required safety standards and certifications.
•    Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Investigators support the assessment of potential risks associated with product design, manufacturing processes, and operational use. 
•    Documentation and Reporting: Comprehensive documentation of investigations, findings, and corrective actions is essential. Investigators are responsible for preparing detailed reports that summarize their findings and, when possible, recommendations.
•    Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaboration with various departments within the organization is critical. Investigators work closely with engineering, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and other teams to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions effectively.

•    You are passionate about Aviation
•    Education: You possess a technical college degree or bachelor’s in aerospace or in another technical related field
•    Technical Skills: You have a minimum of 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry
•    Regulatory knowledge: You are knowledgeable of SMS related regulations and international standards (SM-0001)
•    Analytical skills: ability to conduct thorough root cause analyses, evaluate technical data, and identify patterns or trends is critical
•    Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary
•    Communication skills: You are bilingual in written and oral French and English (essential) and able to easily communication with others
•    Collaboration and interpersonal skills You possess strong interpersonal skills and you are skilled at influencing others
