POSITION PURPOSE
Promote student success and retention at the academy through regular monitoring and auditing of student progress while referring students at risk or in need of additional resources with the primary objective to ensure on-time and successful completion of the training program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

New Student Orientation
- Assist students in onboarding and orientation. Ensure students have a good onboarding experience and are on the path the success.
Student Progress Tracking
- Monitor and report on daily lesson completion as well as the completion of other milestone events to include written testing, stage checks, end of course checks, and check rides.
- Generates and presents reports to academy leadership on student progress.
- Makes appropriate referrals to students perceived as at-risk, acts as an advocate as appropriate.
Student Accountability
- Create plans of action when deficiency trigger events occur and monitor the completion of the plan. Escalate concerns to management as appropriate.
- Monitor student attendance for daily training events and provide first-level coaching for attendance. Advise students on consequences for attendance and performance issues.
Time Building Pathways
- Advise students on the preferential bid process. Manage student transition to experience-building pathways, and from these pathways to Republic Airways First Officer.
Student Engagement
- Attend student engagement events to foster a culture of fun and action.
Miscellaneous
- Ensure students are training and following appropriate processes for administrative items such as: time off, leave of absence, student complaints, resource library, etc
- Administer exit surveys and voluntary withdrawals.
- Works collaboratively with the team to allocate resources for student training.
- Maintains administrative documents and confidential student records.
- Develops and promotes internal communication and resource sharing in order to benefit student success.
- Participates in individual and team professional development, remains current with technology used to provide advising services.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience in academic advising or related careers in post-secondary or trade education, or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of the position.
Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to effectively analyze ambiguous information and respond appropriately.
Experience in group presentations.
Ability to process and maintain confidential information.
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office suite.
Ability to multitask and interact with multiple computer applications.
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree.
FAA advanced or instrument ground instructor or certificated flight instructor certificate.
Previous experience in a fast-paced operational environment.
Experience working within the flight training industry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
