This position is responsible for performing chemical and physical tests on polyethylene samples. Laboratory work will include mixing ingredients, chemical reactions and testing the samples durability and tensile properties.  The results will be recorded in the LIMS system. Ability to understand and support the Quality Management System: ISO-9000:2015. The ideal candidate is well-versed in all elements of Quality values and controls established in industry such as: Problem Solving, Process & Product Controls and Data-Based Decision Making.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the overall Quality of the samples tested.
  • Perform a variety of routine and non-routine technical tasks in the Laboratory.
  • Perform testing in accordance with QMS procedure:
  • Accurate documentation of laboratory test results in LIMS.
  • This position is required to work closely with the HON AM Quality Organization, Site Operations, Site Engineering, and all support teams.
  • Ensures follow up for their/direct reports standard work and the use of quality tools and systems "Plan, Do, Check, Act" to meet established Goals and Objectives.
  • Supports maintaining Site Quality Management and Regulatory Certifications through compliance to QMS and EHS requirements.
  • Understanding of plant First Pass Quality and Non-Conformance

  • Be an organizational leader championing Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost Management.
  • Support other tasks and assignments, as appropriate.
  • Work schedule 12 hour rotating Day/Night Shift (Dupont)
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

•        High School diploma or Equivalent

•        3+ years of Laboratory Technician Experience in a manufacturing environment

 

WE VALUE

  •  College degree in a Science field including a minimum 8 hours of Chemistry  (Chemistry preferred) with 2+ years of Laboratory Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working directly in large scale petrochemical and or chemical manufacturing plant operations. Highly value prior experience with high density polyethylene and or low density polyethylene (synthetic wax) manufacturing and packaging operations. Processes of interest are dry handling, packaging, and bagging operations for powdered and pelletized product.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills as a team player, driving value-added results and establishing credibility throughout the organization and with suppliers and customers required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with an International/Global company
  • Ability to motivate team to achieve business objectives
  • Ability to lead, drive change, and influence others
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills to address quality issues
  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities
  • Understanding of Quality improvement principles, ISO 9001:2015
