Job Description 1

Position Summary:

Use various handheld and bench mounted measuring devices to determine product quality. Perform inspection of firing blocks to ensure product conformance to internal requirements.

Essential Functions:

Conduct sample preparation for various destructive tests
Perform tests for incoming and outgoing materials for PCC foundries using the following:
Particle Size Analyzer (PSD)
Trace Analysis – ICP and Atomic Absorption
Sieve Analysis
Slurry Testing (viscosity, specific gravity, pH, ceramic retention)
Various other pieces of equipment/testing methods
Enter test data into spreadsheets and/or databases
Report test data to quality and engineering as needed
Process control audits as needed
Conduct calibration on process control equipment
Assist in testing for engineering trials

Required skills:

Must be able to read, write, and do basic mathematical problems.
Must be detail oriented and well organized
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Must be self-directed to accomplish goals with minimal supervision
Must have good interpersonal skills for dealing with customers and internal employees
Must be computer literate, familiarity with Excel a plus
No warnings for attendance or performance for the last year

Experience & Education

High school education is preferred
Prior lab experience is preferred
