How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) Provide legal and labor relations advice, opinions and recommendations to leadership and Divisions throughout Delta in a fast-paced corporate environment. Primary duties and responsibilities include:Advise operational departments, particularly Flight Operations, on strategy and matters related to employment policies, labor law, labor relations, compliance, contract interpretation and administration, benefits and managerial trainingRepresent Delta in all phases of the grievance process and arbitration hearings under collective bargaining agreementsParticipate as needed in negotiations and assist in management of relationship with Delta’s U.S.-based pilot and flight dispatcher unionsAdvise on ad hoc labor-related and employment mattersSupport and implement positive employee relations throughout the Company; help make Delta the employer of choice in the airline industry and foster Delta’s long-standing, family-oriented culture

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentialsLicensed to practice law in the U.S. with State Bar admission in at least one jurisdictionMinimum 3 to 6 years of work experience in a law firm or equivalent in-house experience, with a focus on labor and employment matters with a preference for prior representation of management in labor-related litigation and counselingStrong analytical, strategic, leadership, negotiation, dispute resolution and problem-solving skillsConsistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. Ability to:Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing and to prepare and deliver sound legal and labor relations opinionsEstablish and maintain effective and professional relationships with internal clients and external partners and entitiesAnalyze and interpret facts, caselaw, precedent, legislation, statutes, contracts and other information as needed to provide necessary advice and recommendationsResearch and draft labor contracts and agreements, pleadings, briefs and other legal documentsAbility to work quickly and competently to prioritize, multi-task and produce results in deadline-oriented projects
