Position Summary
Tactical Air Support, Inc. (TacAir) is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Shipping & Receiving Specialist. This role is primarily responsible for processing outbound shipments and receiving inbound material. Secondary responsibilities include conducting cycle counts, overseeing inter-warehouse transfers, delivering parts, maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment, assisting colleagues, and performing other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Prepare outbound shipments by adequately protecting and packing aircraft spare parts for transport via FedEx, USPS, and freight forwarders.
- Generate airway bills using FedEx and USPS online software.
- Contact and liaise with freight forwarders to arrange transportation of large and/or heavy items throughout CONUS.
- Receive incoming goods ensuring the number of physically received packages matches the delivery driver package count(s).
- Inspect inbound packages for possible damage during transportation and report as necessary.
- Verify the quantity of inspected items for possible damage, signs of use, wear, tooling marks, or other abnormalities.
- Process inbound and outbound items through the Ramco Inventory Management System.
- Oversee warehouse transfers by coordinating the movement of goods between different TacAir facilities.
- Deliver parts to mechanics within the Stead TacAir Hangars as well as external Operating Locations (OLs) in Fallon, NV, and Hill AFB, UT.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with 1-3 years of relevant experience with storing packaging and shipping spare parts.
- Experience with or willingness to quickly and accurately learn to conduct regular cycle counts to ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
- Willing and able to monitor inventory levels by maintaining accurate records, tracking stock movement, and identifying discrepancies.
- Willing and able to use your personal mobile device to make and receive work-related phone calls and text messages during scheduled work hours.
- Willing and able to obtain forklift certification.
- Valid state driver's license (required for parts deliveries).
- Must have reliable means of transportation.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
Desired Experience/Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Familiar with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Forklift certification.
- HazMat certification.
- Experience utilizing FedEx and USPS online shipping software.
- Experience scheduling pick-ups with freight forwarders.
Physical Demands
- Occasional lifting, carrying, and moving up to 90 pounds with assistance, if required.
- Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms.
- Regularly ascend/descend stairs and/or ladders.
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in a warehouse subject to extreme heat or cold for extended periods of time.
Work Authorization
- Must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
- Tactical Air Support is a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace. Pre-employment, random, or for cause drug/alcohol testing (including for marijuana) is required.
- Occasional aircraft hangar or warehouse environment with exposure to loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate (hot/cold), electrical shock, or trip or slip.
- May be exposed to or required to handle hazardous materials.
- Specific work hours are determined by operational, departmental, or contractual requirements.
- Occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime work may be required.
- Occasional travel to various work sites throughout the U.S. may be required.
