Immune Specific Accountabilities
- Recognizes and understands flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Responsible for immediately reporting flight/product safety concerns.
- Participates in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
Specific Accountabilities
- Plans, schedules and coordinates both internal and external resources in maintenance of company buildings and grounds within an approved budget and timeline.
- Ensures that plant facilities remain operational; coordinates the regular maintenance of all utilities, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems.
- Actively participates as a member of the appropriate management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes.
- Exercises authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
- Responsible for janitorial functions, lawn and landscaping maintenance, snow and trash removal, painting, and other minor repairs and services.
- Procures and maintains certificates on boilers and compressors.
- Develops and implements schedules and procedures for safety inspections, ongoing maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.
- Advises on the hiring of external contractors to perform maintenance and repair services.
- Coordinates the regular service and repair of maintenance vehicles.
- Processes purchase orders for all maintenance equipment and supplies.
- Carries out special projects as assigned.
Technical Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of methods, practices and techniques of maintaining equipment, buildings and facilities.
- Thorough knowledge of equipment, tools and materials used in building maintenance.
- Working knowledge of national and local fire, building, plumbing and electrical codes.
- Good planning, organizational, leadership, interpersonal, analytical, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
- Working knowledge of PCs in the current company operating system environment.
- Qualified tradesperson in a related discipline and several years of building maintenance experience; or equivalent.
Background Information
The typical minimum level of education to perform this job competently is equivalent to high school graduation and completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school. The person requires an ability to understand, utilize and communicate specialized information in speech and written text. This specialized training is often formalized and recognized by a specific certificate, diploma or license.
Directly/indirectly related work experience representing continuous learning and required for someone to perform this job competently is three to six years.
Ongoing work assignments typically have clearly defined goals, but no (or minimal) direction with respect to what action steps to follow. The incumbents education, training, and previous experience will help ensure that the goal of the assignment can be clearly defined and understood (even if that means just knowing what relevant questions to ask), but the required/optional approaches to achieving the goal will often remain unclear, undefined and/or untested until the work assignment is well underway.
