Job Summary

The Network Operations Control (NOC) Consultant delivers on our Purpose by partnering with NOC Project Teams and other stakeholders to support the ongoing development of the department and enterprise strategic plan, project portfolio, and implementation of initiatives against the plan. This role provides the research, analysis, and coordination for ongoing development and implementation of NOC business and technology driven initiatives. The NOC Consultant is a strong communicator who looks forward to being part of meaningful and impactful initiatives at Southwest.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week.     Responsibilities
    • Partner with NOC Project Teams and other departments to support various activities required in the ongoing development of the Department and Enterprise strategic plan, project portfolio, and implementation of initiatives against the plan
    • Support project intake, prioritization, and alignment of work to the NOC and Enterprise strategic plans
    • Support department planning and process improvement functions through general analysis, reporting, and performance monitoring, and makes recommendations for process improvement
    • Implement business processes, analysis and financial and operational justifications for NOC initiatives
    • Serves as the analytical thought Leader on projects and drives fact-based alignment with Partners
    • Demonstrate strong understanding of NOC operational processes, policies, and procedures
    • Develop well-written, executive-level presentations that are clear, visually effective, and convey key information
    • Cultivate and drive change management within and across departments for projects and initiative using professional techniques and thought-driven strategies
    • Develop trusted relationships with the other Operational and support departments, and serves as an ambassador of the NOC through partnership and Department brand
    • Provide guidance to Peers and other Team members to transfer knowledge and support their development
    • May perform other job duties as directed by Employees Leaders

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Knowledge of airline/aviation industry
    • Working knowledge of SWA operations
    • Highly skilled in PowerPoint to synthesize information and develop presentations for Senior Leadership and affected stakeholders
    • Skilled in visualizing data to drive insights using tools such as PowerPoint, Think-Cell, Power BI, etc.
    • Skilled in Microsoft Office products
    • Skilled in working in an analytical and qualitative manner with the ability to apply a methodical and logical approach to problem solving
    • Ability to assume high level of responsibility and to provide direction in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment
    • Ability to demonstrate and maintain a high regard for confidential and sensitive information
    • Ability to work under stressful situations and manage time effectively
    • Ability to communicate in a flexible and effective manner with all levels of Employees and Leadership, written and verbal
    • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet department objectives and goals
    • Ability to work with a high level of confidence and trust from mid-senior Leadership
    Education
    • Required: High School Diploma or GED

    Experience
    • Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
      • Leading projects that span multiple work groups and/or departments, airline operations / transportation industry
      • Facilitating changes within operational software systems and business processes
      • Strategic communications and/or professional consulting
      • Developing and delivering business plans, data collection, analysis, and presentation

    Licensing/Certification

    Physical Abilities
    • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
    • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
    • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

    Other Qualifications
    • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
    • Ability to work extended hours based on operational needs

    Pay & Benefits:

    Competitive market salary from $102,500 per year to $113,900 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
