Job Summary

The Network Operations Control (NOC) Risk and Assurance Consultant plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of Southwest Airlines and is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks across various facets of the NOC. This role will also monitor and evaluate data changes within the operation and effectively communicate assurance data trends to Senior Leadership. The NOC Risk and Assurance Consultant is a detail-oriented thinker, who is ready to drive the future of Southwest Airlines.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities
  • Work with multiple groups within the NOC to identify and effectively mitigate risk
  • Corelate data to changes within the operation and effectively communicate assurance data trends to Senior Leadership
  • Manage relationships with multiple operational groups regarding the development and implementation of Risk and Assurance within the NOC
  • Support Program Management for both Risk and Assurance within the NOC by developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive controls and metrics
  • Deliver various Safety Trainings within the NOC
  • Develop and implement safety promotions within the NOC
  • Maintain and grow NOC Assurance to ensure safety and operational trends are proactively identified and mitigated
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employees Leaders
  • Brief in writing and verbally to all levels of Leadership and Employees
  • Identifies continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the NOC risk and assurance programs
  • Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee&39;s Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 5 Safety Management Systems
  • Knowledge of computer software tools including Data Analytics & Reporting Tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, QuickBase) and Diagramming Software (e.g., Miro, draw.io, Microsoft Visio)
  • Knowledge of airline, operational control, flight standards, policies and procedures
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to investigate and problem-solve
  • Ability to assemble and organize technical data, preparing comprehensive and logical factual and analytical reports, and creating and communicating effective presentations to large and small audiences regarding these findings
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, motivational ability and organizational skills
  • Ability to translate deep and complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand language for Stakeholders
  • Ability to work with others as part of a Team and communicate effectively face to face, in writing, and on the phone
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience
  • Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
    • Aviation
    • Aviation risk management
    • Safety or regulatory programs
    • Data analysis procedures, techniques, data mining, and relational databases
    • Managing data collection and analysis programs
    • Safety Management Systems (SMS)

Licensing/Certification
  • Preferred: Dispatch certification
  • Preferred: Pilot license

Physical Abilities
  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United states as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $102,500 per year to $113,900 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
