Job Description:

The Network Strategy Consultant supports our Purpose by developing innovative strategies for Southwest Airlines&39; future domestic and international network. This role will collaborate with the Airport Affairs Department as well as other commercial divisions. The Network Strategy Consultant is a skilled communicator and analytical problem solver who looks forward to making a meaningful impact on Southwest Airlines.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities
- Support analysis regarding Southwest&39;s network in order to create network strategies influencing the direction of the Southwest network 1.5-15 years in the future
- Assist in the development of strategic and tactical domestic and international commercial plans to enhance the Southwest network
- Assist in maintaining the Network Portfolio and recommends changes to Senior Leadership
- Assist in completing the 3 year and long-term Network Plans (Work Plan)
- Assist in domestic and international new city evaluations
- Assist in performing high level forecasting for new cities as well as overall large scale network changes
- Develop and maintain knowledge base for Southwest&39;s domestic and international markets, including but not limited to past performance trends, future outlook, and industry capacity and demand changes
- Initiate, lead, and complete value-added Team projects in accurate/timely manner with ability to meet needs of direct Leader
- Manage external relationships with airport and tourism authorities for offline domestic and international cities
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employees Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Advanced level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:
- Analyzing airline performance in a strategic/commercial planning/ operational planning organization (e.g. Revenue Management, Network Planning, Ops Planning Data Science, Strategic Planning, Financial Planning & Analysis, Crew Planning, Crew Scheduling, Maintenance Planning, etc.)
- Understanding commercial and operational performance metrics and targets within the aviation or transportation industry
- Network design strategies, location and staffing constraints , and how to translate operational and commercial goals into long term network strategies
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $102,500 - $113,900 per year depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
