The role:

Nominated Person Crew Training

The Nominated Person Crew Training is responsible for the management, development and delivery of Crew training (including both Pilots and Cabin Crew) and ensures that the training functions and activities of BA Euroflyer remain compliant with the appropriate CAA requirements. They are also responsible to the Accountable Manager as AOC nominated post holder for Crew Training, ensuring compliance with statutory compliance and safety requirements relating to the operation of aircraft and the training of crew. Additionally, they provide the framework for training policies, standards, and resources to meet the technical, operating, and safety standards of the company.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the Training Team, delivering world class operational and customer service standards, meeting operational targets, while ensuring a safe and secure operation
  • Provide effective people management to develop team capability, manage performance towards organisational goals, ensuring the standards of all colleagues meet the requirements of the organisation, required qualification level and ensure an adequate training program is in place as appropriate for each area
  • Responsible for developing a strategic training plan to include annual training plans ensuring all crew are compliant with regulations and procedures and that the right blend of aircraft, simulator (FSTD) and theoretical knowledge instruction take place
  • Maintain a comprehensive document and record management / storage / archive system and liaise with the  authority regarding administration and coordination
  • Ensure cooperation and coordination with commercial and operational partner organisations and within own area  of responsibility
  • Represents the company within other areas of the BA and IAG business, ensuring that the company has  appropriate visibility and support from the mainline business
  • Build and own the training budget to ensure effective service provision and cost control, constantly reviewing  and implementing changes to support the business plan
  • Oversee the accurate and timely completion of crew training record

 

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Ability to build strong relationships with team members and other 
    departments.
  • Ability to challenge current working practices.
  • Ability to motivate, coach and develop others, delegate effectively and manage performance management cycle.
  • Ability to make sound and logical decisions under pressure

 

Your experience:

  • Qualified Pilot on Airbus 320 family – ATPL
  • Type Rating Examiner on Airbus 320 family
  • Previous Nominated Person Crew Training or deputy and acceptable to the CAA
  • Proven experience in providing successful Flight and Cabin Crew Training and understanding of delivery requirements
  • Experience with the management and implementation of strategic training plans
