Job Summary

Worldwide Flight Services is seeking a dynamic Dallas/Fort Worth based paralegal to support a small yet mighty in-house legal department. Background in corporate transactional compliance, and/or labor & employment practices preferred. Law firm experience a plus. Must have excellent verbal and written communication, and organizational skills. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to grow and develop professionally and provide input into the foundations of WFS’s growing legal operations. Hybridposition (remote + in-office).

Responsibilities
  • Assist in projects relating to all legal functions, including corporate transactions, corporate compliance, contract management, labor, employment, and corporate secretarial matters.
  • Help prepare agreements and company-related communications.
  • Assist in data gathering and compiling information for special projects as assigned. Interface with internal and external lawyers, executives, and internal clients.
  • Assist in contract management (e.g., create and maintain electronic contract database).
  • Support Legals training programs.
  • Organize, manage and maintain all electronic and paper-based files for the corporate compliance organization and develop suitable naming conventions for departmental documentation. Assist in vendor management including performing Third-Party Due Diligence (TPDD) on new and existing vendors to manage Foreign Corrupt Practices Act risk and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Assist with litigation-related and government agency administrative matters (e.g., draft position statements in EEOC type claims).
  • Assist in conducting company investigations.
  • Review, scan and maintain sensitive documents, e.g., employment-related and personnel files.
  • Perform online and legal research.
  • Maintain resource lists (e.g., global list of outside counsels).
  • Assist with company policy updates in coordination with other stakeholders.
  • Perform general administrative and clerical tasks (e.g., meeting scheduling, scanning and mailing, travel planning, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree
  • Able to take direction and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision, maintain accuracy and meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize a myriad of competing matters.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, utmost discretion and ability to keep information confidential as required.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, listening and writing skills.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across the global legal
  • organization, and with all levels of management, customers and external parties.
  • Creative and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer technology skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Pro and Access).
  • Proficiency with Westlaw and/Lexis, internet research and other research tools.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of the legal system including court rules, statutes, and ordinances; legal terminology, principles, precedents, and procedures; methods of legal research and drafting legal documents; investigative and interviewing methods and techniques; and legal time constraints and deadlines imposed by law.
Preferred Skills
  • Background in corporate transactional, compliance and/or labor & employment practice.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, independently, as well as collaboratively, and operating under tight deadlines with a broad range of responsibilities.
  • Highly detail-oriented, resourceful and flexible.
  • Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program of education and training, or an associate degree in paralegal studies.
