Key Responsibilities:

As a Plater Technician you will work in the fast-paced San Francisco Technical Operations Engine Maintenance department. The Plater Technician plays a very important role in providing quality service to our internal and external customers. The Plater Technician must have strong practical and working knowledge and abilities to perform all aspects of plating miscellaneous aircraft and engine parts, including the following and duties:

  • Perform all technical and practical applications of stripping, cleaning and plating.
  • Using sound working knowledge of electroplating theory.
  • Ability to use standard measuring devices and tools.
  • Utilizing knowledge of basic electricity regarding rectifier and tank cell set up.

Plater Technicians must be able to work around the clock shifts, including weekends and holidays. Technicians may bid for schedules several times a year and schedules are awarded according to seniority.

Plater Technicians are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT).

Pay $35.90/hr

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Must have a high school diploma/GED or education equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Twelve months (12) of Industrial Plating Shop Experience working with any of the following- Alodine, Anodize, Cadmium, Chrome, Copper, Dow treatment, Electroless Nickel, Nickel, Passivate, Selective (Brush or Contact Plating) Silver.
  • Successful completion of a trade test.
  • Must be non-allergic to Plate shop environment.
  • Valid US drivers license (revoked, suspended or expired are not considered valid).
  • Must pass 10-year background check.
  • Must be willing to take a pre-placement physical abilities test, hearing and vision tests, and drug screen.
  • Candidate must be able to clear a fingerprint-based criminal history check in order to obtain and retain credentials necessary for the position. Position-specific clearances may include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority.
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be customer focused.
