Strategic technical advisory leader, responsible for driving and owning long-term and short-term goals in the development and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives and high-profile projects among all PAC products, such as predictive maintenance, video and image understanding, ensuring preemptive problem-solving to enhance system reliability, and passenger satisfaction. Leverages AI capabilities to minimize disruptions and optimize operational efficiencies. Mentors technical staff.      
 
What you will be doing:     Applied Science:      
  • Architectural Design: Drive the architectural design of scalable and robust solutions, integrating advanced algorithms into our systems and ensuring alignment with the overall technical strategy.
  • Research and Innovation: Lead applied science research to develop cutting-edge algorithms and models for data-driven personalization.
  • Algorithm Development: Design, implement, and optimize machine learning and AI algorithms to enhance content recommendation systems, user profiling, and personalized experiences.
  • Spearheads the design and implementation of AI systems across all products, ensuring tailored and customer-centric solutions for In-flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC).
  • Utilizes AI to minimize downtime and optimize system reliability, prioritizing a seamless and superior customer experience throughout their journey.
 Collaboration:      
  • Collaborates with and leads cross-functional teams as a technical leader to develop and deploy solutions.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to key stakeholders, acts as a mentor to technical staff.
  • Stays up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the field and shares knowledge with department staff.
The salary range of $185,000 - $300,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.  Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.    
 
What we are looking for: Required:     
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Data Science or a related quantitative field. Masters or Ph.D. preferred.    
  • 12+ years combined experience in software development and machine learning.     
  • Learning: Expertise in developing and implementing advanced machine learning algorithms for personalization, recommendation systems, and AI-driven features.    
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar, with the ability to guide science and software engineering teams.    
  • Cloud Services: In-depth knowledge and practical experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, for scalable and efficient data processing and storage.    
  • Modeling:    
    • Statistical Analysis: Profound understanding and application of statistical models to derive insights and evaluate the effectiveness of personalization strategies.
    • Language Models: Understanding in applying Natural Language Processing techniques and leveraging language models to enhance personalization and user experiences.
  • Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark) and distributed computing for processing large datasets.    
  • AI Model Deployment: Hands-on experience in deploying machine learning and AI models into production systems (such as docker), ensuring scalability and performance.    
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and collaboration skills.    
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring technical staff.
