Primary Objective of the Position:
Cargojet is looking for an all-star engineering leader to create, from the ground up, a new B2C software platform. In this role, you will lead an external vendor team of developers, analysts, and UI/UX developers as they develop solutions with numerous partners in parallel for a new B2C service. In addition to this engineering leadership responsibility, you will work cross-functionally with other Cargojet leaders to keep abreast of emerging platform trends, key platform milestones and roadmaps, and other aspects of our technical offering so that you can always provide the best solutions for our customers. You will also help drive improvements to the developer platform by providing regular feedback to engineering about missing features or other issues found during your development efforts.

Essential Position Functions / Responsibilities:
• Responsible for leading the entire end-to-end development of technical products supporting a new Cargojet service in collaboration with third-party vendors
• In the future - internally recruit, hire, mentor, and manage teams of software engineers, analysts, and UI/UX, experts
• Interface with internal and external customers to understand requirements, set priorities, and communicate direction and progress
• Own all operational metrics and support for your teams software
• Manage the agile development process and methodology to deliver tech requirements on time and with a high degree of precision and quality
• Coordinate with stakeholders in other groups, drive alignment across multiple organizations on shared goals and initiatives
• Make long-term org design decisions and architectural decisions.
• Launch website, apps, and internal portals for supporting the new service
• Oversee supplier portal integrations with third-party suppliers and providers
• Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
• CS / IT / Engineering Masters degree; MBA Preferred
• 7+ years of experience in platform development, website, and app design
• Deep hands-on technical expertise, prior experience as a software developer or software development manager required
• Solid software development background including design patterns, data structures, test-driven development
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, and a track record of shipping software on time
• A passion for people management
• A passion for supply chain digitization
• Aviation and cargo transportation-related experience is a plus
