Position Summary:

Prepares heat sheets and processing cards for the Airmelt and Vacuum manufacturing operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works safely. Adheres to all company and regulatory EH&S policies and procedures. Look for safety issues and notify leadership of all safety concerns.
  • Adhere to all Company 6-S initiatives and policies.
  • Prepares heat sheets after melt campaign has been sequenced by Production Planning Specialist.
  • Review of inventory for raw material, customer scrap, and home scrap availability.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing on material needed for the melt campaign.
  • Prepares heat sheets using proper melt sequence, CRMP’s (vacuum heats), melt procedures, Glovia SO notes, and the ABS program.
  • Active participant in meetings regarding materials, schedules, and heat sheet generation to keep pace with melting operations.
  • Review work orders to assure seven digit number and CRMP numbers are correct.
  • Print heat sheets and process cards.
  • Enters new items in Glovia Engineering.
  • Check all raw material certifications against RMS or ARMS.
  • Enter raw material and purchased scrap release chemistries in Glovia.
  • Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of available banked, purchased, home scrap, slugs and deviant materials.
  • Enters new items and maintains existing items in both G2 and Syteline Engineering.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education or Experiences:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, with a minimum of three (3) years of melting experience or related technical background.

Two-year degree in Chemistry or Planning, or equivalent.

  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills, can organize, prioritize and balance time to meet established deadlines.
  • Highly competent in Microsoft and other computer applications for information and data management.
