PRODUCT REPAIR TECHNICIAN, Sr.

Job Designation

The Senior Product Repair Technician performs complex inspections, tests, troubleshooting and repairs on customer returned equipment, in accordance with all rules and regulations. Assists in the creation and maintenance of repair procedures as required in support of product or process improvement initiatives.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Acts as a lead in complex inspection, testing, troubleshooting and repair of products in accordance with approved documentation 
  • Performs teardowns, overhauls and functional testing of various repair station products and items Effectively communicates details of repair work to customers as needed 
  • Informs the Technical Support group of recurring failure modes, errors, software problems and all other occurrences affecting the operation of the repair station
  • Ensures that all repair work is performed according to procedures and per correct document revision Develops and implements product improvement initiatives and ensures that the appropriate training is obtained to maintain the correct knowledge in all regulations, procedures and processes required to effectively carry out the job function 
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
  • Other responsibilities as assigned 
  • Able to work independently with no supervisory guidance.
  • Demonstrate a broad and comprehensive understanding of a varied complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or fuel products involving electronics, dual hydraulic systems, and multiple parts.
  • Possess extensive historical knowledge of product and process situations that are normally encountered. Able to independently overhaul/repair, test, and assemble 90 of the assigned product line.
  • Able to research problems and develop solutions, incorporating multiple variables, to successfully repair products to serviceable condition without assistance. Works with products never touched before.
  • Able to set up test fixtures independently.
  • Able to adapt to procedures, techniques, and/or processes to meet special needs on varied assignments.
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self‐development activities.

Education: 

  • A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Certifications: 

  • Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field 

Preferred Requirement:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic’s License.

Years Experience: 

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience

Skills :

  • Advanced technical knowledge and skills in product repair
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Proven troubleshooting skills to component level on complex electronic circuits is required
  • Ability to problem-solve solutions in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures
  • Computer proficient
