Production Control Coordinator  (Full Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Coordinate production control activities throughout designated shop area, interfacing with Engineering, Procurement, and Quality Assurance departments, researching all planned shop orders to identify parts and materials required.  Expedite all parts and materials short to allow order to be released to production.  Provide support, as required, to Inventory Control.  Work with minimal direction from Supervisor.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

•         Match part numbers on incoming parts and bin locations to assure proper location of materials.

•         Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence for storage.

•         Maintain stock bins to assure accurate counts and proper labeling; set up new bins as required.

•         Prioritize assignment of parts to be pulled.

•        Retrieve and convey parts, equipment and materials from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Load parts and materials on carts or use appropriate material moving equipment.

•         Use material handling equipment such as electric carts, push carts, pallet jacks, truck, skids and hand tools to transport items to areas as necessary.

•         Adjust inventory levels as required, placing replacement orders for stock below re-order point.

•         Scrutinize every facet of job and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to Supervisor.

•         Perform housekeeping chores as department requirements dictate.

•         Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no Supervisory responsibilities.  May be required to train and assist other employees.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related material requirements planning experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.  Basic computer skills required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 

Ability to perform the duties of the job applying basic mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
