Summary
Supervise and direct multiple Shift Supervisors and operating crews in the production of ingots, while ensuring safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.
Essential Functions
Supervise and direct multiple shift supervisors and operating crews in Primary Melt and Double Melt plan, coordinate, a schedule the flow of production materials through each work area.
Manage employee time, vacation, and overtime management.
Troubleshoot equipment and operating problems.
Work with Maintenance to resolve problems.
Handle personnel issues & enforce plant rules.
Insure training of Supervisors and operating personnel as necessary.
Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Operating policies, and procedures are followed.
Additional Responsibilities
Work closely with Production Control & Quality Departments.
Control operating expenses.
Participate and direct various continuous improvement activities.
Participate in performance appraisals of Shift Supervisors.
Participate in customer audits.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Business Admin, Engineering, Other technical degree.
7 years’ industrial supervisory experience in melting or manufacturing operations. 10+ years’ industrial supervisory experience preferred.
Special Skills
Computer skills: Microsoft Office/Outlook, etc.
SAP experience
Must have a strong knowledge and understanding in manufacturing process & equipment.
General knowledge of the basic metallurgical aspects of the process preferred.
Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pressure, vacuum, electrical & equipment control systems.
Proven department operating expenses and cost structure.
Leadership experience in a Union environment preferred.
Salary Min $105,200 - Max $131,400
