JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting quality of daily work, tasks, and operations to ensure the completion, appropriateness, and quality of work. The Quality Inspector verifies the work performed against the work plan, specifications, and standards; records/reports findings and concerns; and specifies corrective actions. Outdoor work is subject to extreme temperatures, noise, and inclement weather conditions and other conditions determined by the nature of the job. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard, and cement structures and surfaces. Adhere to the contract requirements, safety, and health regulations and company policies while performing assigned duties. The Quality Inspector continues to support the Arsenal mission, proactively solve problems, and deliver quality services safely in the performance of the Rock Island BOS PWS.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Adhere to the Quality Control Plan and Site-Specific Health Safety Environmental Plan.

  • Supports the Quality Control Manager and Site Manager.

  • Performs daily evaluation and verification of work and tasks compliance.

  • Stops the performance of work and tasks due to safety concerns or situations.

  • Inspects and review work against the specified work plan.

  • Provides training to team members regarding quality processes and procedures.

  • Records inspection results by completing reports, summarizing the input/output data and provide corrective actions.

  • Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and calibrated.

  • Monitor the use of tools to ensure it is safe, calibrated and discard any that do not meet requirements.

  • Determine the causes of products defects and rework.

  • Identify potential quality issues, safety issues and rectify.

  • Monitor operations to ensure productions standards are met, recommend adjustments or production process.

  • Safely maneuver in active work environment and loud noises.  

  • Must attend annual Asbestos Awareness Training.

  • Responsible for timely reporting of accidents, injuries, and hazardous situations.

  • Timely completion and accuracy of all inspections and work.

  • Works closely and harmoniously with other employees.

  • Must be able to multitask. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Must possess experience in quality inspection and compliance of construction and building maintenance.

  • Must possess strong knowledge of safety, hazardous and environmental warnings.

  • Must have knowledge of basic math for measuring, calibrating, and calculating.

  • Must have knowledge and experience in handling of hand and power tools.

  • Ability to ensure products and parts meet quality standards.

  • Ability to identify potential hazards and mitigate them.

  • Ability to provide detailed report, briefing and advise.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.  

  • Must have knowledge of maintenance data collection databases to include in administrative level entries.

  • Must be an excellent communicator and have fair judgement.  

  • Must have experience in providing quality support in large facilities maintenance or construction projects.

  • Able to be a multi-tasker.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Two (2) years’ documented experience in quality control of construction and/or maintenance of building equipment.

  • Experience in Civil Engineering Quality implementation and policy.

  • Must understand blueprints, technical documents, and manuals.

  • Must be able to provide detailed quality inspection reports.

  • Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds, and walkways, able to complete tasks in high or confined spaces.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Projects.

  • Must be able to work on secure military facilities.

  • Must have current valid driver’s license and clean driving record and be qualified to operate a vehicle.

  • Must be able to pass a DoD background check, pass drug screening tests and obtain a SECRET security clearance.
