Position Summary

Reporting to the Site Quality Leader, the Quality Technician, Sr. is the lead representative for the Quality Inspection team in conjunction with Quality Engineering and Operations. In addition, they are also a focal point of the Parker Zero Defects Program (ZDP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) within the Danville Carbon operations.

 Job Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Customer Investigations and assists with customer product support issues as required.
  • ZDP (Zero Defects Program) champion
  • Responsible for applying standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques in providing solutions to a variety of problems.
  • Collects, organizes, and analyzes data, and provides feedback to Engineering personnel. 
  • Leads/participates on teams in problem solving/corrective action activities and documents as appropriate.
  • Daily interface with Supervisors, Assemblers, Quality Inspectors, Engineering personnel, Procurement and MRB Engineers.
  • Oversight and support of the Quality inspection team in daily operations.
  • Works closely with other engineering departments to help solve problems involving product deficiencies, design changes, and new manufacturing process development.
  • Support Quality in maintaining compliance to customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for working in a safe manner and observing all company procedures regarding environmental, health and safety matters.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. 
  • Performs special duties as assigned.

 

Job Specifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED is required. 

Certifications: A secondary certificate or vocational school certificate combined with prior work experience in the CNC Machining is recommended.

Experience: 

  • 4 – 6 years of experience working in Quality Control Inspection in manufacture and assembly of mechanical components, preferably related to the aerospace industry is required.

      Skills:

  • Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Knowledge/Experience of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools; SAP experience a plus
  • Quality experience preferred.
  • Document control system experience preferred.
  • AS9100 internal auditing experience 
  • Experience with blueprints, drawings, and CAD models.
