Job Description:
This Cabin Retrofit Solution Architect position is opened at Airbus in Toulouse.
The job holder joins a team that establishes cabin modification/upgrades for Airbus commercial aircraft, after aircraft delivery.
Based on a solid experience, the job holder is the focal point for validation of the contractual delivery date of engineering data, SB and Kits from simple to complex projects including the mega deals.
On the French perimeter, he/she assesses the industrial risks, validates technical solutions & associated documentation and identifies, proposes and supports new Retrofit adaptations.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
In the context of optional modification requested by Customers after aircraft delivery, you will be accountable on the french perimeter for resources management, quality and scheduling of all design, technical solutions and supply chain aspects related to SIMCC deliverables to customers for their project(s) by:
Elaborating the impacted RF/CI list from the Technical Offer (TO) &43; Pre/Post cabin layout
Weighting the technical impacts of the subject and providing all the necessary input (technical scope, cost estimation, planning, resources allocation,…) to the EOM/APM to establish the Technical Offer and associated lead-time
Identifying and developing new retrofit solutions (Upgrade Solution)
Proposing & validating the mod build-up (Known, CTK, New) including for complex/Mega deal projets to be presented at the screening meeting
Launching the Pre Feasibility Study (PFS) and Full Feasibility Study (FFS), if required, to the serial Design Office to establish the Technical Repercussion Sheet (TRS) for the specific design integration
Closely monitoring technological developments on her/his ATA chapters in anticipation of new customer requests
Capitalizing the cost estimation activity for reusability
Learning from previous projects done in execution phase
Once the offer is accepted, you are accountable for overall project management activities during the production phase. Following the serial line worksharing between France & Germany, you are responsible to manage french activities for all type of cabin conversions as follow:
Participate to Kick Off Meeting for SIMCC4 (technical scope & detailed planning validation)
Being the SIMCC4 responsible for cabin contributions in front of SIMCx actors
Ensuring project management of the complete contribution deliverables (including LLI & LOCs)
Supervising engineering / eng conf analysis / drawings creation / SB preparation / SB authoring depending on the Make or Buy Policy (internal or external)
Supervising the TRS (CTK Mod) instruction
Elaborating & validating the impacted RF/CI list and the Interface table
Creating & validating all the engineering & design activities
Keeping Suprem planning up to date for all activities under your responsibility
Identifying “Long Lead Item” (LLI) part for early ordering, in line with the kit delivery Target Date (TD) following the E1 to E4 process.
Ensuring the 100 freeze of the engineering drawings & List Of Components for the committed BU letter Target Date
Leading the full Certif plan and involving the required CVE
Being Accountable for SB/Kits project management and accuracy of the production planning
Providing impacted regulations and associated Means & Compliance to support the Modification Approval Sheet (MAS) release in due time to allow modifications approval before the start of the SB scrutiny phase
Performing the SB Scrutiny
Providing technical support during SB embodiment on aircraft via remote (as necessary) and provide answer to SB queries & Defect report (DR),
Ensuring on-site technical assistance during the working party. This role will involve some business travels to foreign countries for periods of several weeks
Consolidating the SIMCC inputs for the recap project meeting
When you have the required experience, other functions/responsibilities can be accumulated:
Compliance verification engineer (CVE for specific ATA)
Technical delegations for Specific Design Work (SDW)
RTE1, 2 & 3 delegations
Tutor for new team members (upskilling of the newcomers)
Defect Report (DR) signature
SB technical approval delegations
Support the newcomers upskilling
Skills and experience:
Engineering degree, with a 5 to 7 years experience on structure & systems for cabin conversions
Experience in Aircraft Design (in Design Office but especially well appreciated on retrofit solutions) on several aircraft programs
With a 2 to 5 years experience as cabin Senior Retrofit Solution Engineer
Experience in project management
Good communication skills
Negotiation level of English
