Main Duties:

Responsibilities include:

• Work with Developers, Project Leaders and Functional staff to deliver business systems developments and upgrades
• Work with other DT groups and RSL functional / business teams to deliver business systems to meet functional / business requirements.
• Works closely with other DT staff and functional users, ensuring systems or changes are delivered in a timely and effective manner.
• Works directly with the functional / business user community on bug fixes, request for service and approved changes to current systems.
• Ensure the ongoing availability of RSL systems solutions working toward improved system productivity.
• Provide system support in response to business needs within published service levels – respond to and resolve break fixes and execute preventative maintenance solutions.
• Provide out of hours support, as agreed with the functional area (e.g. Finance month end)
• Ensure integrity, availability & security of information and systems.

Activities include:

• Communicate Functional requirements to the Development group using an understanding of the business process and SAP functionality.
• Initial testing of Functional driven changes.
• Resolve issues in the Functional areas of Finance, Contracts to Cash, HR and Commercial.
• Implementation of functional changes including training, support, problem resolution and handover to the business.
• Development of documentation for functional specification.
• Monitor and correct Idocs errors as a result of the interface applications.
• Work with various functions to identify areas for improvement, these include Central Finance, Commercial, Financial Planning and Analysis and HR.
• Monitor Helpdesk for incoming work.
• Identify batch control schedules and resolve issues with jobs that error.
• Functional configuration for enterprise structure changes and additions.
• Maintenance of master data to ensure the continuity of the cross functional requirements of SAP.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

• Holds a recognised financial qualification to support their level of experience.
• SC cleared or the ability to become SC cleared.
• SAP experience in a financial environment.
• Demonstrable evidence of effective problem-solving skills in support environments.
• Excellent relationship skills - the ability to build positive relationships with both business and technical personnel.
• Strong communication skills in written and oral presentation material.
• Ability to demonstrate effective collaboration capability within virtual teams and multi-party environments.

Desirable:

• Understanding of DT Systems disciplines including requirements, management, configuration management, change control, reliability analysis and quality management.
• Experience of other key transactional and reporting systems and data warehousing.
• Experience of working closely with other key functions such as Finance, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
• An appreciation of ITIL Functions & Processes.
