Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 5:00am to 1:30pm

MISSION: To provide entry level assistance as assigned to PCC departments, including loading, transporting, filling, scheduling assistance, gathering materials, equipment operation and cleaning. Learns the basic operations of the department. Job postings identify the essential job functions for the department requiring the position.

Helper is distinguished from Utility Aide by the following: assists with complex operations, stages materials and parts, completes duties of multiple steps, maintain Technique Cards part folders, and works without close supervision once duties are learned; work environment may also be more complex and/or hazardous than that of Helper.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Department/Operator Assistance Objective: to file dispositioned technique cards and provide entry level assistance to department personnel as assigned in order to contribute to department productivity. Typical Activities:

  • File Technique cards in the using back-end departments
  • Remove obsolete/expired technique cards from part folders in the using back-end departments.
  • Conduct periodical audits on part folders to ensure the current dispositioned technique card is accurate to the revision incorporated by Document Center.
  • Follow the guidelines as established in the SOP for Technique Cards at SSBO.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.
  • Assists schedulers and expediters.
  • Works with more skilled personnel as assigned.

Safety Objective: to take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.

  • Safely operates all equipment and tools.
  • Identifies and reports safety problems.
  • Completes logs and records.
  • Performs other tasks as directed. ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT, VEHICLES, MACHINERY AND/OR TOOLS USED: To be identified by the department requiring the position.

TRAINING:

  • Training is provided on the job.
  • CC&39;s Forklift Driving Safety Certification Training must be completed as assigned.
  • Hazardous Materials Handling training as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to follow instructions, read, writes and performs mathematical calculations.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
