The Norwegians Safety team is primarily responsible for supporting the Norwegian approved organisations with safety management system (SMS) related activities.

The scope of work includes all areas of EASA Basic Regulation / Annexes for Air Operation, Continuing Airworthiness, Air Crew, and the agreed contracted activities. The primary scope is related to safety investigations, hazard identification and risk management.

 

The Safety Officer HF/Fatigue position is located at our office in Fornebu, and reports to Director Safety.

You are our ideal candidate if you have:

 

  • Preferably documented skills and qualifications within the field of human performance/factors and Fatigue.
  • Good knowledge of Flight Time Regulations
  • Preferably operational experience as cabin crew or pilot with good knowledge of airline and crew Operation Manuals
  • Knowledge of acts and regulations in aviation.
  • Excellent computer literacy.
  • Excellent level of English. Both oral and written language. 
  • Academic background with analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of EASA Basic Regulation / Annexes for Air Operation
  • Experience in the investigation of incidents, accidents, and human factors
  • Experience in safety and/or quality audits
  • Ability to be persistent and promote a just and fair culture together with an open reporting culture.
  • Effective planning/organizing skills, customer-focused and analytical with good judgment, able to work under pressure, and a team player.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office.
  • Relevant Aviation, Commercial, and Management Training is an advantage.
  • Tenacity and appreciation of their own impact on the development of a rapidly expanding organization.
  • Knowledge and training in safety management

 In this role you will be responsible for: 

 

The primary duty of this Safety Officer role is delivering SMS-related products to the approved organisations including but not limited to the following:

 

  • Support the Fatigue Manager in the continuous development of the company Fatigue Risk Management
  • Safety / Occurrence reporting administration. Maintaining the integrity of the confidential safety reporting system and just culture principle.
  • Event assessments and investigations related to:
    • Fatigue
    • Human Factors
    • Operations
  • Produce and promote safety-related material.
  • Develop relevant safety statistics.
  • Facilitate Risk Assessments and Safety Action Groups.
  • Follow-up on Risk Assessments, mitigation, hazards, and safety actions.
  • Assist and support internal admin functions or relevant projects.
  • Other SMS related tasks as requested by manager.
