ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as GE Aero Research Sourcing’s single point of contact for Niskayuna assigned internal organizations and partner with internal customers and GE Aero Indirect Sourcing to proactively identify sourced goods and services demands and develop strategy to achieve best total cost result.
- Provide support and training to internal customers on GE Aero Research Sourcing processes and systems
- Oversee wing to wing sourcing process from identifying demands, developing sourcing strategy, identifying and supply base, executing Request for Quotes, Negotiations, Purchase Order management and Accounts Payable resolution.
- Responsible for both Strategic Sourcing (in collaboration with GE Aero Indirect Sourcing as appropriate) and Procurement
- Ensure the timely turnaround of assigned requisitions- both those assigned to you as a buyer (High $ MRs) and those assigned to Contract Buyer teams (Low $ MRs) for your assigned organizations
- May include potential off hours support of operations for emergency sourcing needs critical to site operations
- Proactive supplier management (supplier adds, modifications etc..) as required.
- Identify baseline pricing and negotiate best total cost (price, quality, fulfillment and cash) result for GE Aero Research.
- Collaborate with other GE sites and GE Aero Indirect Commodity Leaders as needed to achieve best results for GE Aero Research
- Maintain and work to meet internal GE Aero Research Sourcing metrics on MR processing turnaround time, cost out and others as needed
- Provide oversight and strategic guidance to contract buyers executing sourcing activities for lower value purchase orders in support of assigned internal organization
- Coordinate with GE Aero Research Finance for quarter/year end closing activities
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to achieve best total cost for GE Aero Research.
- Sourcing Project Leader for assigned systems/processes. Acting as the team internal liaison/subject matter expert for those systems/processes.
- All other projects, duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college or applicable sourcing experience
- Minimum 7-10 years applicable sourcing/procurement experience
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
- BS / BA degree in a technical field
- Experience in supporting Facilities, Manufacturing and/or Research teams.
- Demonstrated success in working with cross-functional teams.
- Must be detail-oriented and data-driven
- Demonstrated strong project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and facilitation skills with ability to influence others
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Strong PC, database management skills. Experience with Oracle Purchasing is a plus
- Sourcing experience in both Strategic and Procurement functions and well as Indirect Sourcing
- Onsite is preferred however Remote applicants will be considered.
The base pay range for this position is 126,000 - 211,000 USD Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary. This posting is expected to close on March 6, 2025
