The Senior Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy Consultant delivers our Purpose by joining the AI Strategy and Design Team, focusing on analyzing problems and developing creative, human-centered design outcomes to solve them. This role is responsible for leading end to end research and strategy projects to explore problems through the eyes of users, build understanding of whats working and what isnt, analyze and quantify patterns, and craft compelling research insights to guide the evaluation of business challenges through the lens of AI, automation, data, and digital solutions. The Senior AI Strategy Consultant is a strategic problem solver who is excited to help pilot the future of Southwest Airlines.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. Responsibilities
- Lead moderate to highly complex research and strategy projects to facilitate the definition, valuation, and design of artificial intelligence solutions
- Execute primary research using multiple methods, including leading teams in field research and leading structured engagements such as workshops
- Plan, develop, and coordinate rigorous research artifacts, such as screeners, field guides, lines of inquiry, and surveys, to ensure objectives and goals of research are met
- Lead analogous, secondary, and precedent research activities to uncover supporting context and market trends to identify alternative possibilities for solutions
- Synthesize and analyze findings for patterns to develop actionable insights into outputs such as frameworks, storyboards, user experience journey maps, and system blueprints for use in design and testing
- Develop strategic frameworks and design requirements for building thoughtful artificial intelligence products that produce human-centered business impact
- Lead the evaluation of concepts and prototypes against design and business goals to support iteration and improvement
- Communicate insights and recommendations across multiple formats and channels to ensure that research is effective for different audience types
- Collaborate in a team-based environment with leads from multi-disciplinary business units such as Technology or Facilities, and work closely day-to-day with Experience Designers and Artificial Intelligence Delivery teams
- Identify and understand the dependencies and impacts of projects to the greater Company business or operation
- Teach, mentor, and coach others on research, design, and strategy methods
- Cultivate thought leadership on the intersection of artificial intelligence, aviation, and Human-Centered Design, and leverage this knowledge for greater impact to the business

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of behavioral research and a wide range of qualitative methodologies such as interviews, contextual inquiry, and ethnographic style fieldwork
- Advanced knowledge of sensemaking, insights synthesis, and analysis
- Knowledge of the Human-Centered Design methodology and associated mindsets, tools, and techniques
- Skilled in applying a wide range of quantitative research approaches
- Skilled in designing and executing field research, particularly with a technical focus
- Ability to lead highly complex projects, including acting as a leader in business stakeholder meetings, solution definition and planning, detailed task and deliverable definition and creation, and project schedule creation
- Ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with Customers and diverse levels of Employees, up to and including Executive levels, with an emphasis on compelling storytelling and creating alignment
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, FigJam, and Miro
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Human-Centered Design or a similar strategy methodology

Physical Abilities

Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Ability to travel occasionally as needed for projects
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $130,750 per year to $145,300 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
