Job Description:

We are searching for a motivated individual to join our Network Planning & Scheduling Team to thoroughly analyze and provide meaningful insights to Icelandairs network development and performance.

Network Planning & Scheduling is responsible for the development of the Icelandair route network as well as maintaining the flight schedule and seat capacity for the companys international and domestic networks. The team falls under Icelandairs Commercial division and works closely with Revenue Management and Sales, in addition to other departments across the Operations and Finance divisions of Icelandair.

In recent years, the Network Planning & Scheduling department has undergone transformative changes, now placing a greater emphasis on adaptability to the highly dynamic aviation market. As a result of this change, our team has doubled in size and our optimization tools are more advanced than before.

You will work in a strong, tight-knit team to develop analyses and scenarios for the route network to analyze decisions on new destinations, support current route performance, and maximize the utilization and profitability of the Icelandair fleet. The successful candidate is an innovative problem solver and strategic thinker who is excited about the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the companys objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and managing reports and analyses;
  • Setting up and maintaining datasets used in network optimization and simulation;
  • Simulating various network scenarios and interpretation of results;
  • Collaborating on the delivery of projects, acting as project manager/leader when needed;
  • Developing performance measurement metrics.
  • Creating and presenting material both written and verbal to members of the team and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • University education fit for purpose (e.g. within an analytical discipline in the area of Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or Business);
  • Experience in data analysis / commercial insight, preferably in an airline setting;
  • Experience in and passion for the airline industry;
  • Superior analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large volumes of data;
  • Problem solving skills and a sharp commercial acumen;
  • Strong & effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively;
  • High motivation, goal-orientation and the ability to get involved in & lead projects when required;
  • Fluency in English (written & verbal).
