The role:

An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Assistant, operating within the Engineering Support Team (EST) working with the Technical Engineers to manage and resolve technical issues identified relating to the heavy maintenance (HM) inputs. Ensuring compliance is maintained and processes and procedures followed., while supporting the safety, airworthiness, reliability, and technical performance of the aircraft

What you’ll do:

  • Compile and approve technical documents and instructions.
  • Assist with determining optimal technical decisions within the EST Team.
  • Consult on technical and airworthiness matters both internally and with the type certificate holder (TCH)
  • Identify and build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders within British Airways and the TCH to ensure focus on delivery of technical solutions.
  • Communicate performance, significant events and operational decisions to stakeholders in a timely manner, escalating as necessary.

  What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Proven decision-making skills in a complex business environment​.
  • Using initiative to develop and deliver technical solutions​.
  • Excellent influencing skills and ability to collaborate to drive effect outcomes and decisions.​
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex technical information into a clear and simple message.​
  • Proven prioritisation skills and comfortable with both complexity and ambiguity​.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a high pressure environment.

 Your experience:

  • HNC/ HND/ Degree or equivalent in an approved Engineering subject, or a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship​
  • Must be able to gain EASA/ CAA Part-21, Part-M and Part-145 authorisations as required​.
  • Knowledge of maintenance programs, technical reliability and condition monitoring tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality management systems​
  • Working knowledge of engineering processes and procedures ​
  • Experience of working autonomously and managing competing priorities ​
