Position Summary
Provides routine technical support to engineering and operations while assembling components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment.
 
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the area Supervisor in administration duties

  • Assist in the management of personnel in the absence of the supervisor

  • Act as the area SME and provide technical advice to the supervisor , engineering, quality, and operators

  • Provide data and support for metrics for daily, weekly, and monthly updates

  • Oversee and provide input for 6S, and Lean Manufacturing Initiatives as well as weekly/monthly audits

  • Participate in the dispositioning of discrepant material in support of MRB

  • Affluent knowledge in the Manufacturing Execution Systems

  • Provides routine technical support to engineers and scientists on standard components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment

  • Responsibilities may include testing, modifying, reworking, repairing and building electronic, optical or mechanical assemblies

  • Design prototype assemblies and production units

  • Capable of performing related manufacturing processes

  • Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any application certification required to maintain the certification

  • Interface with other operators, engineers, and supervisors and effectively communicate information across shifts and departments

  • Perform testing of products utilizing a multitude of test equipment and to be able to analyze the data.  Provide feedback to engineers on test data

  • Position requires the ability to coordinate several activities at the same time, and to reprioritize in response to changing operations conditions

  • Perform complex machining, set up of machine tools, and assists in authorized programming edits for process development

  • Perform electro-mechanical assembly, disassembly and rework.  Some test and repair of various electronic products and mechanical assemblies

  • Work from and possibly develop, complex wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion, and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties

  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization

  • Provide input for process deviations and help identify root causes and corrective actions.  Authoring Red Line and process changes

  • Other jobs as assigned

  • Flexibility to work on off schedules when asked

 
Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications (include education and years of experience required)

  • 10+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry

  • Associates Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Pass a background check

  • Perform Key Performance Indicators:

    • Meet production deadlines

    • Quality of finished product (Pass/fail rates

    • Assist Manufacturing when needed to meet team objectives



  • Compliance outcomes

  • Advanced understanding in optical manufacturing machines, tools, and processes

  • Experienced in handling and cleaning optics and optical elements

  • Experienced in the safe handling of chemicals

  • Must have good hand and eye coordination

  • Experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Experienced in working under a microscope

  • Experience in working within a group and getting input from other technician s to ratify new processes and procedures

  • Experience writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and training personnel to those procedures

  • Advanced Experience in optical testing and analyzing data

  • Mechanically inclined

  • Demonstrate an advance level of leadership
