What You Will Do Learn: 

  • Experience testing a variety of electronic units using prescribed test procedures
  • Learn to set up and operating various test stands
  • Train on configuring test equipment for special tests as needed
  • How to interpret and record test results
  • How to recognize and isolate test equipment failures
  • How to use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electronic units to the sub-assembly and component level
  • How to read and interpret technical data such as component maintenance manuals, engineering prints, and schematics
  • How to communicate work status to team members and support staff (e.g. shift pass down, engineering, maintenance)
  • Enhance theory of electronic circuitry and electrical components
  • Writing in a clear and concise technical manner
  • Gain computer skills and utilize software applications

To be eligible for a SkillBridge Fellowship, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be eligible to participate in the Fellowship per DoD Instruction 1322.29.
  • Must be projected to receive an honorable discharge from the military.
  • Must have all TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start date.
  • Must receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of command.
  • Must be located within a commutable distance or willing/approved to relocate to the job location.

Work Environment:

In your role, you will be exposed to:

-Products of various weights and sizes

-Equipment with moving parts

-Chemicals that may emit fumes

To minimize safety risk to you and the product, you must wear static-control and personal protective equipment.

Physical Demands:

•    Due to the nature of our work, you will need to be able to perform the following functions, with or without reasonable accommodation

•    Distinguishing colors and meeting vision requirements

•    Bending, stooping, reaching, turning as needed to place units in test stands, pick up totes, place units on rack, etc.

•    Using hands for extended periods of time to perform testing and troubleshooting tasks (e.g., grasping, holding, picking, placing, twisting, fine manipulation)

•    Must be able to stand for 2-hour increments without an opportunity to sit

•    Must be able to lift 25 pounds

•    Transporting product with or without product carts

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a HS Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience or in the absence of a HS Diploma or GED, 4 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status).

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Electrical Technician Certification
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics
  • Experience with component-level troubleshooting

NOTE:  SkillBridge Fellows are not eligible for these benefits, however they are available upon conversion to full-time.
