Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Tool Technology & Development Coordinator to join our Tool Technology Department based in Mobile, AL

Support all aspects of tooling acceptance for the manufacture, transportation or testing of aircraft parts, components or assemblies within the Airbus Final Assembly Line – USA.

Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your challenges:
  • Support jigs & tools activities as needed by the team to ensure successful onsite management of tooling: 40

▪ Coordinate Tool User Test activities in support of the Jigs & Tools Engineers.

▪ Responsible for all incoming tooling un-packaging, sorting, and quarantine.

▪ Responsible for storing all documentation (paper/digital) in specified areas.

▪ Prepare tooling for entry into service (engrave tool identification information, cording with qualification team to inspect tooling)

▪ Maintain cleanly working environment of acceptance area using 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)

▪ Interface with Tool Shop

▪ Support special requests from the team as needed to achieve business objectives

▪ Organize meetings when requested
  • Support/lead jigs & tools scrap requests according to FU.IN.03.02 process requirements: 10

▪ Ensure and document collaborator alignment/verification that tool is obsolete or damaged beyond repair.

▪ Ensure all subcomponents are captured including verification to the tool drawing.

▪ Update documentation and database to reflect completion of scrapping activity.

  • Technical data gathering and research: 20

▪ Support jigs & tools engineer and/or jigs & tools quality engineer in assessment/data gathering of as-is situations.

▪ Assess to-be solution and requirements to adapt to FAL USA tooling.

▪ Act as deputy to jigs & tools engineer in tooling activity support.

▪ Facilitate reporting through process observation and photographs.

▪ Support Nonconformity (NC) input and recovery activities.

  • Implementation/Acceptance Activity Support: 20

▪ Support tooling supplier activities on site.

▪ Support/lead acceptance activities.

  • Special Projects: 10

  • High School graduate or equivalent experience

Experience:

Required

  • Proven manufacturing experience including tool management

  • 1-3 years of experience in an office/manufacturing environment.

Licensure/Certifications:

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

Required:

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while dealing with a high volume of sophisticated information and specific deadlines

  • Candidates must be available to work 40 hours per week during team hours (7am-4:30pm Monday-Friday). Potential exists for overtime outside of these hours (e.g. work on Saturdays).
