Primary Objective of the Position:

Under the general direction of the Manager, Training & Development, the chosen candidate will support the training and development of our operations staff by providing site-specific training.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Conduct and organize internal training courses.
  • Train all equipment operators (including lead hands, ground handlers & supervisors).
  • Prepare training reports, proficiency & competency documentation and provide training matrix support.
  • Maintain safety certifications and training in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain on-site personnel training databases.
  • Develop course materials and information as required (manuals, lesson plans, presentations, reference materials, evaluations/quizzes & other training documents).
  • Provide individual & group instruction on site/area specific equipment, processes and operational practices & procedures.
  • Maintain records of staff participation and completion.
  • Maintain a safe & healthy training environment by following organization & regulatory standards and manufacturers instructions.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of training.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years experience operating equipment in the Air Cargo industry; must be familiar with aircraft operations.
  • Possess the necessary certification to conduct training (e.g. forklift train-the-trainer certification)
  • Must be computer literate; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Current valid drivers license & clean drivers abstract.
  • Good record-keeping, documentation and reporting skills.
  • Must be flexible, decisive, work well under pressure & work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent operation skills with attention to care & maintenance of equipment.
  • Strong organization skills & must be able to multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal/written) and presentation skills.
  • Previous experience conducting on-site training would be an asset.
  • Strong competence in the correct & safe operation of forklifts, loaders, tugs, etc.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate expertise on equipment to learners & proven track record of safety practices.
  • Must be an effective team member and must be able to work with little or no supervision.
