- Performs surface preparation, treatment and painting of components, all aircraft surface areas, aircraft panels, support equipment, or other items as required.
- Demonstrated ability to precisely apply paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin, or other material using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other devices.
- Masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted. Working knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques.
- Must be knowledgeable of military publications and diagrams.
- Ability to precisely apply vinyl graphics to multiple aircraft surfaces. Must be qualified in application of FMS-2026 Form 2, Type 1 F-16 Have Glass surface refinishing
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years’ proven experience as a paint technician to include painting, maintenance, and finish work.
- Education requirement: High School diploma or GED
- Proven experience with FMS-2026 F-16 Have Glass paint application procedures. Working knowledge of USAF military publications and Technical Orders
- Must be able to lead, train and mentor other technicians in all aspects of the F-16 Aircraft Paint technician specialty
Preferred Qualifications:
- F-16 Block 40 and above surface refinishing
- Highly experienced USAF 5 and 7 skill level or civilian equivalent
