Job Summary:

To apply finishes to a variety of parts or assemblies. May be required to assist lower grade Painters.

Job Responsibilities:

· Working from oral and written instructions and established procedures, prepare painted surfaces, spray primers or various paint finishes to parts and assemblies. Uses some judgment in obtaining desired finish.

Selects and adjusts spray gun in accordance with instructions, performs masking and sanding duties as required prior to painting and checks own work for coverage.

· Professionally applies paint to surface maintaining finish requirements acceptable to shop supervision and quality control.

· Adjusts and cleans spray gun and paint equipment or other company tools checked out for performing job assignments with appropriate solvents.

· May perform application of anti-corrosive agents to parts and assemblies.

· Responsible only for own work and quality of own work.

· Performs other related duties as required.

Job Requirements:

Education: Requires a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.

Experience: Requires a minimum of one year manufacturing spray painting or equivalent experience. May be required to complete department specific certifications.

Working Conditions: Particularly disagreeable working conditions due to exposure to paint fumes.
