What You Will Do

  • Under direction of Leadman/Supervisor follow instructions and job orders to obtain material, tools and equipment to carry out tasks.
  • Must be able to work well with others responsible for overall project accomplishment to prepare work site, obtain material, prefabricate components and carry out finishing operations to preserve and decorate.
  • Plan and layout work and install, maintain and repair structures using standard methods and processes to fit components, blend and match finishes.
  • Follow established safety rules & regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
  • Perform similar duties throughout the facility within the scope and skill level of this job description.
  • Assist other trades working on joint projects where common skill crossover provides the opportunity for shared responsibilities and more effective use of available skills.
  • Performs all general carpentry alterations, maintenance and repairs to the structure, furniture, doors, windows within all the facility buildings.
  • Build or repair cabinets, partitions, furniture, doors, ceilings, etc.
  • Performs general carpentry work on partitions, doors, floors, etc. using woodworking machines, hand tools or power tools.
  • Repairs, hangs and installs all doors (wood or metal).
  • Performs preventative maintenance and safety inspections on equipment as scheduled.
  • Assembles and installs new equipment not addressed by specific trade.
  • Occasionally operates automotive equipment including PIV’s, buggies, fork trucks and aerial lifts.
  • Assist in unloading material from various suppliers.
  • Inspects completed work to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Refer problems to Supervisor.
  • May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within trade specialization.
  • 1st shift hours are Monday - Friday 6:24 AM to 2:54 PM.

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts
  • 7 years experience working in the carpentry field

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Perform the work necessary to fabricate and finish structures, platforms and similarly constructed products for factory and office applications and operate a variety of equipment and machinery.
  • Plan and perform the installation of partitions and coat and cover with finishing materials.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
