Position Summary:

An Industrial Painter&39;s job is to apply protective coatings or decorative finishes to industrial structures, such as buildings, machinery, and equipment. Their paint technique places an emphasis on durability and strength over aesthetics, i.e., floors of a manufacturing facility and equipment/machinery.

A Commercial Painter&39;s focus is primarily on aesthetics rather than durability. A commercial painter usually involves high quality paints, especially for exteriors, because these paints tend to be more durable, have lower VOC (volatile organic compounds), and last longer but an emphasis is placed more on the aesthetics, especially indoors such as texturing and finish i.e. office spaces and restrooms.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparing surfaces - this can involve removing old paint, cleaning, filling cracks, and smoothing imperfections.
  • Mixing and matching paints - industrial painters need to know how to mix paints to achieve the desired color and finish.
  • Operating and maintaining equipment - industrial painters use specialized equipment, such as air guns and wet spray.
  • Ensuring quality - industrial painters need to ensure that the quality of their work meets company standards.
  • Cleaning up - industrial painters are responsible for cleaning up their work area and equipment.
  • Specializing in an industry - some industrial painting contractors focus on a particular industry, such as automotive or aircraft painting. Industrial painters are skilled trade workers who often need special training and the ability to perform specialized techniques.

                              Required Skills:

                              • Ability to apply simple math concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

                              Experience & Education

                              • GED or High School diploma preferred required.

                              For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $17.00 to $20.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
