KCSI Aerial Patrol is a leader in aerial pipeline and oil field surveillance and aerial data collection. We seek an experienced and motivated Chief Pilot to lead our flight crews and be responsible for the day to day activities occurring in the flight department. This position will be based in Bakersfield, CA.
KCSI is headquartered in Bakersfield, CA and operates a fleet of 20+ single and multiengine aircraft from eight bases throughout the United States. KCSI meets the stringent aviation qualifications of major oil and gas companies, and utilizes a Safety Management System fully integrated with its Operations.The majority of patrol flights are conducted at low altitude, utilizing ACA Citabria and Cessna aircraft.
The Chief Pilot reports directly to the Director of Operations. He/she is committed to safety throughout all operations within KCSI Aerial Patrol. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensure aircraft are fit for the task, with appropriate and suitably qualified pilots matched to the correct plane.
Control the pilot schedule to ensure that pilots comply with duty and flight times.
Ensure that pilots are current in category, class and model of aircraft being flown through annual reviews, line checks, and training.
Recommends and suggests fleet changes and equipment changes to ensure maximum safety standards and service in the most economical manner as possible.
Monitors progress and developments in aviation and recommends adoption of new methods, techniques and improvements when practical and feasible.
Approves the selection, training, and hiring of all flight personnel.Organizes meetings and discussions with Company personnel on in-house issues, procedures, and safety related topics
.Participate as an active member of the Management Safety Committee and Company Safety Culture.
Follow all Company procedures, policies and processes presented within the Safety Management System to protect people, assets, reputation and the environment from harm.
Ensure compliance with safety critical tasks.
Responsible as the process owner, or partial owner, for all flight operation hazard controls and barriers within the Safety Case.
The selected candidate will have wealth of aviation experience, a minimum of 1500 hours total flight time, CFI certificate, with a multi-engine rating preferred.
