Seeking an experienced and highly motivated Chief Pilot to lead our Part 135 flight operations. The ideal candidate must be typed and current in the Gulfstream GV and possess strong leadership, operational, and regulatory expertise. The Chief Pilot will be responsible for ensuring compliance with FAA Part 135 regulations, managing pilot training and scheduling, maintaining the highest safety standards, and overseeing all flight operations.
Key Responsibilities
Flight Operations & Compliance
- Oversee all flight operations to ensure compliance with 14 CFR Part 135 and Part 91 regulations.
- Act as the liaison with the FAA, ensuring all company pilots meet licensing, training, and operational standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, TSA, ICAO, and international flight requirements (e.g., RVSM, NAT HLA, ETOPS).
- Conduct internal audits and assist with FAA inspections and audits as required.
Pilot Leadership & Training
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Part 135 pilots, fostering a culture of professionalism, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain pilot training programs, including initial, recurrent, and proficiency training in accordance with FAA and company requirements.
- Conduct check rides and evaluations to ensure pilots adhere to operational and safety standards.
- Oversee crew scheduling, flight assignments, and duty/rest time compliance in accordance with FAA regulations.
Safety & Risk Management
- Work closely with the Director of Operations and Safety Officer to implement and oversee the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).
- Ensure proper flight risk assessments, emergency procedures, and hazard mitigation strategies are in place.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and hazardous material handling requirements as applicable to aviation operations.
International & Executive Flight Operations
- Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) on Gulfstream GV aircraft for domestic, international, and transatlantic flights.
- Plan and execute high-profile VIP and corporate flights, ensuring confidentiality and the highest level of service.
- Coordinate with dispatch, FBOs, ATC, and international regulatory agencies to ensure seamless operations.
Minimum Requirements
- FAA ATP Certificate
- Typed and Current in Gulfstream GV
- Minimum 3,500 Total Flight Hours
- Minimum 2,000 Multi-Engine Turbine Hours
- Minimum 1,500 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Hours
- Extensive Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 135 & Part 91 Regulations
- Strong Leadership & Communication Skills
- Experience Managing Pilot Crews & Training Programs
- International Flight Operations Experience (NAT HLA, RVSM, ETOPS)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as Chief Pilot or Assistant Chief Pilot in a Part 135 operation
- Gulfstream GV instructor or check airman certification
- Experience with FAA audits, SMS implementation, and safety compliance
- Proficiency in flight planning software, scheduling systems, and maintenance coordination
