Job Summary

The Part 91 Maintenance & Operational Support Pilot - Rotor Wing will perform post maintenance and preservation ground runs within the designated region. Responsible for ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to conduct post maintenance operational check flights and repositioning Ferry flights.  Responsible for briefing and/or supervising all associated personnel in aircraft operations as applicable.  Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) as applicable, and a thorough knowledge of Air Methods policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
• Operates all assigned aircraft in a safe and legal manner at all times (100).
• Perform Aircraft preservation ground runs.
• Perform Aircraft post maintenance ground runs.
• Completes pre-flight before every flight verifying the aircraft is in an airworthy condition. Perform a complete walk around of the aircraft prior to entering the cockpit for flight and upon completion of each flight.
• Perform Aircraft post maintenance test flights for RTS (Return To Service) per MOC/ ROC requirements
• Ferry aircraft as directed under Part 91 Rules, VFR only.
• Final authority with regard to operations of aircraft and for the safety of crew, passengers, cargo and equipment.
• Responsible for completion of required documentation.
• Able to conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Visual Flight Requirements (VFR)

• 1500 hours PIC in Rotor Wing (Helicopter category)
• 500 hours of Rotor Wing turbine time
• 150 hours of cross-country flight time, at least 75 hours of which were at night
• 50 hours total time, if rated, of actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category (simulator time does not count)

(for a RW candidate who is FW rated, 25 hours or greater of FW actual or hood Instrument time can reduce the RW required instrument time to 15 hours).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Valid & Current Helicopter Commercial License
• Valid & Current Class I or II flight physical completed with medical certificate obtained.
• Valid & Current Helicopter Instrument rating preferred
• Valid & Current Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License preferred

Skills
• MOC / ROC qualified in aircraft types (preferred)

• Capable of being AMC-qualified in multiple aircrafts (AS350, B407, B429, EC130, EC135, EC145)
Computer Skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Education & Experience
• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

• 2-5 years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred)

Pay Range
USD $81,525.00 - USD $122,250.00 /Yr.
